Dhial ran for council in 2022, gathering over 5,000 votes

Kelowna’s Indy Dhial running for City Council Published 4:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026 For the second time, local business owner Indy Dhial is attempting to get a seat on city council. Dhial, a community leader and longtime volunteer, announced his intentions on Wednesday, July 15.

Dhial is the owner of TGP Kids Early Learning Centres and president of the OKGN Apna Sports & Cultural Society. He said he’s helped lead initiatives that promote youth recreation, community inclusion and cultural engagement. He said his decision to run is based on commitment to “building a stronger, more connected city where families, businesses and neighbourhoods can thrive.”

“I’ve spent my career leading teams, operating businesses, and serving our community,” Dhial said. “Now I’m ready to bring that same practical, solutions-focused approach to City Hall. Kelowna needs leaders who understand the real challenges facing residents and who are prepared to work collaboratively to deliver results.”

His campaign focuses on the following priorities: - Supporting responsible growth while protecting neighbourhood character - Improving public safety and community well-being. - Increasing access to childcare and family services. - Working with local businesses to build a stronger economy.

- Investing in parks, recreation, and youth opportunities. - Building a more connected and inclusive Kelowna where every resident feels represented. Dhial previously ran for council during the 2022 Municipal Elections.

Despite missing a seat, he said that experience strengthened his understanding of city issues. “This campaign is about listening first,” he said. “Every neighbourhood has unique challenges and opportunities.

I want to earn the trust of residents by showing up, listening carefully, and working hard every single day to represent the entire community.” Dhial said he will attend community events, visit Kelowna neighbourhoods and have meetings with residents as his campaign unfolds. The 2026 Municipal Election will take place on Oct. 17.
