A 10 hour closure on Hwy. 401 eastbound through Cambridge Saturday has claimed the life of a Kitchener man. Nine vehicles were involved in the crash near Townline Road around 12:30 p.m. that day. The eastbound lanes of traffic were closed until just before 11 o clock at night.

On Monday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed a Kitchener driver who was transported to a trauma centre, was pronounced dead. The driver was 44-years-old. ROAD CLOSURE: Highway 401 all eastbound lanes are closed near Townline Road in Cambridge due to a collision involving multiple vehicles.

The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
