While helping individuals connect with meaningful volunteer roles is certainly a big part of what we do, there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than most people realize. Every day, our team works with both volunteers and nonprofit organizations to build stronger, more connected communities across Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

We maintain a database of more than 6,100 volunteer opportunities from organizations serving from North Hastings to Prince Edward County and beyond. Whether someone is looking to gain experience, meet new people, give back, or complete high school community involvement hours, we help match them with opportunities that best fit their interests, skills, and availability. We also support more than 280 nonprofit organizations by helping them recruit volunteers, promote community events, and connect with individuals who are eager to make a difference. We understand that every organization has unique needs, and we work alongside them to strengthen their volunteer programs and increase community engagement. In addition to volunteer servicers, we are proud to connect with youth in our community by visiting schools to give presentations on volunteerism and the many ways it can benefit students and the organizations they support.

These conversations help youth understand volunteerism is a chance to build confidence, develop new skills, explore interests, and make meaningful connections. We also host information fairs and attend school events so students can easily access volunteer opportunities and community information in one place. These events give young people the chance to ask questions, learn about local organizations, and find roles that fit their schedules, interests, and goals.

By meeting students where they are, we hope to make volunteering feel approachable, rewarding, and relevant to the next generation of community leaders. Our mission is simple: bringing people and organizations together to strengthen our community through volunteerism. Volunteer opportunities available: Trenval Business Development Corporation is seeking volunteer Board Directors to provide strategic leadership and governance oversight. Individuals with experience in leadership, finance, business, governance, technology, marketing, or community development are encouraged to apply, though previous board experience is not required.

Board meetings are held monthly in Belleville. Quinte Leatherbacks Boccia Club is seeking volunteers for the Big Boccia Blowout Tournament, part of the Ontario Boccia Championships, on Thursday, July 23 at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre. Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, scorekeeping, food service, and support an athlete during the event.

No experience is necessary, and training will be provided. Kentwood Park Nursing Home is looking for volunteers to assist residents during weekly Bingo nights on Thursday evenings from 6:00–7:30 p.m. Volunteers will help residents participate in this fun and social activity while providing companionship and support in a welcoming environment.

Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre are seeking volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors or Board Committees. Community members, particularly those with experience in finance, quality improvement, or lived experience, are encouraged to apply. Training is provided, and volunteers should live in the Belleville or Quinte West area.

Crown Ridge Place Long Term Care Home is looking for friendly volunteers to provide companionship to residents through activities such as chatting, playing cards, reading, and reminiscing. If you enjoy connecting with others and making someone’s day a little brighter, this is a rewarding opportunity to get involved. VON Hastings, Northumberland, Prince Edward is seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to clients in the Trenton, Frankford, and Batawa areas.

Volunteers deliver hot and frozen meals on weekdays, with routes taking approximately 1.5–2 hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Gift from the Heart Charity is seeking a Social Media Specialist to help create and implement content for its website and social media platforms.

Volunteers will support audience engagement and help increase awareness of the charity’s work and donor opportunities. Previous social media experience is preferred, and this flexible role can be completed from home based on the volunteer’s availability. Community Development Council of Quinte is seeking Bingo Volunteers to assist with desk and cash duties at the Belleville Bingo Hall.

Volunteers will help with tasks such as managing cash floats, recording sales, supporting bingo operations, and assisting with general cleanup during afternoon or evening bingos. Reaching for Rainbows is looking for volunteers to help create a welcoming and supportive environment for young girls in Picton. Volunteers will spend time engaging in activities such as playing games, reading, singing, preparing snacks, and building connections that help girls develop confidence, resilience, and friendships.

Orientation is provided, and volunteers will require a Police/Vulnerable Person Check before starting. City of Belleville – Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre is looking for volunteers to assist with gym and sports programs, including floor hockey, badminton, volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and open gym sessions. Volunteers will help supervise activities, track attendance, and support participants in a welcoming environment.

Training is provided, and schedules are flexible based on availability and interests. Volunteer & Information HPE refers volunteers to more than 284 agencies throughout Hastings and Prince Edward counties. We are currently recruiting volunteers to fulfil the needs of our community.
