Thousands of visitors attend Truck Show at B.C. Vintage Truck Museum Published 9:30 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2026 The Cloverdale Fairgrounds were busy July 11 as thousands attended the annual Truck Show at the B.C. Vintage Truck Museum. The show featured both vehicles in the museum’s collection and many others brought down by private owners for a “show n’ shine” portion of the event.

The show is run in coordination with the Hot Rod Saturday car show held next door at Elements Casino. Mike Breed, a volunteer with the Surrey Heritage Society, said the turnout was high and that the day went “pretty darn good.” The Surrey Heritage Society is the not-for-profit organization that runs the truck museum.

Breed said volunteers had stepped up to help put on “such a great event,” which serves to showcase the museum, trucks and transport in general, and raise much-needed funds—as the museum is still looking for a new home. He noted they had just under 100 entries down to the show n’ shine portion of the annual event. “The truck show was absolutely excellent,” Breed said.

“The early morning weather was a little iffy, which slowed us down at first, but I did give out all my dash plaques. So we did very well.” He said it was great to see so many people out for both shows.

Breed explained that the museum has been fulfilling its mission to preserve, restore, and repair trucks that were important to the history of British Columbia. He added two new museum acquisitions were on display—a 1947 Diamond T dairy truck that served routes in Vancouver and North Vancouver in the ’40s and ’50s, and a 1948 Hayes 13-12 flat deck rig that was used to haul machinery up and down the mountains around Port Alberni for logging operations in the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s. “They are two very, very nice pieces of equipment.”

Breed also said the the museum is open two days a week and he encouraged folks to come down and visit. “Come and enjoy the museum,” he said. “There really is something for everyone.”

The B.C. Vintage Truck Museum is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The museum is located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds at 6022 176th Street. Admission is by donation.
