Three people were hospitalized after a fire broke out in a Barrie home overnight, and police are now asking for the public’s help finding a missing pet. Officers were called to the fully engulfed residence on Charlbrook Avenue shortly after midnight. One woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while at least two other people were transported as a precaution.
Officials say the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to assist with the investigation. Police note that a small grey-and-white mixed-breed dog went missing while one of the patients was in hospital care. The dog was last seen in the area of Georgian Drive.
Anyone who finds this pet or has information about its whereabouts is asked to contact Barrie police. No further details about the investigation have been released at this time.
