Wanted man charged in kidnapping case arrested after alleged bail breach

A man facing charges in connection with a violent kidnapping and robbery investigation has been arrested after allegedly breaching his release conditions, police say. Raul Huezo, 26, was taken into custody July 15 by members of the OPP-led repeat offender parole enforcement (ROPE) squad outside a residence in the 800 block of Chiefs Road in Wallaceburg. Huezo had been wanted by Windsor police after allegedly failing to comply with court-ordered conditions imposed following his release.

Police said Huezo was initially charged in connection with an April 2026 incident in which a man was allegedly kidnapped, robbed, assaulted and threatened with a firearm. Following his arrest, Huezo was released with conditions requiring him to reside with and remain in the presence of his surety, police said. He was later added to the Windsor Police Service’s “Wanted in Windsor” list after investigators determined he was no longer complying with those conditions.

In an update posted to social media Thursday, police said the 26-year-old has since been returned to Windsor. He faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, robbery, theft of a motor vehicle with violence, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, pointing a firearm, uttering death threats, and numerous firearms-related offences. mholmeshill@postmedia.com
