Here’s a look at what’s happening across Windsor-Essex this weekend. STAR FAVES Waterfront beats: SYNC Festival brings two days of electronic music to Riverfront Festival Plaza from July 17-18, turning the waterfront into a hub for house, techno and dance music. Presented by SOTC Productions, the 19+ festival features performances from artists including Will Clarke, Crusy, Sydney Blue, David Lindmer, Paradoks and Weska, alongside support from regional and local DJs.

The four-day festival serves up a lineup of creative poutine creations, from classic cheese curds and gravy to over-the-top specialty dishes. The family-friendly event also features live entertainment, games, food vendors, poutine competitions and plenty of photo-worthy eats. Bring an appetite and explore all things poutine.

Lights, camera, action! Grab the family and a bag of popcorn for City Cinema Saturdays, a free summer movie series in partnership with the Windsor International Film Festival. Despicable Me hits the big screen at The Armouries (353 Freedom Way) on Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m.

The series continues throughout the summer with crowd-pleasing favourites July 25. Art walk : Walkerville’s Art Walk returns Saturday, on Wyandotte St. E. from Lincoln Rd. To Devonshire Rd.

FOR THE KIDS Block bash: Kingsville’s summer Block Party series returns Saturday, July 18 from 5-10 p.m. with a Lego-themed night in the heart of downtown.

The intersection of King Street and Chestnut Street transforms into a hub of local food, vendors, businesses, arts and culture, and kid-friendly activities. The free event is part of a monthly summer series, with another block party planned for Aug. 15. PLAN AHEAD Roaring twenties:

Step back into Amherstburg ’s Jazz Age past during Barrels & Brass weekend, Aug. 21-23. Organized by the Marsh Historical Collection, the three-day event brings the sights, sounds and stories of 1920s Amherstburg to life with rum-running tales, speakeasies, silent films and live jazz. Visitors can explore the town’s prohibition-era history through walking tours, immersive silent movie experiences with live piano accompaniment, daytime music and storytelling, and more.

Some events require registration and fees. More at marshcollection.org . Italian traditions: The Saint Ippolito Festival returns to the Ciociaro Club July 26, celebrating Windsor’s Italian heritage with food, music and family fun.

The event will feature a religious program, statue unveiling, a procession, games and contests. The festival runs from 11:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rodeo thrills : The Kingsville Pro Rodeo takes place at Trimble Farms Cattle Co. in South Woodslee July 23-26.

Events include the Rawhide Rodeo Performance with mini chuck wagon races, bull riding, breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping, trick riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping and others. The rodeo will support the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association and the Ronald McDonald House – Windsor with proceeds from the event. Day tickets are $37 for adults, $20 for youths age six to 12.

Children five and under can attend for free. Trimble Farms is located at 383 County Rd. 27 E. in South Woodslee.
