Vancouver Civic Theatres presents Silent Movie Mondays: Charlie Chaplin Shorts on Monday, December 7, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. The evening begins with a pre-show performance by the Gatsby Strutters Jazz Band, followed by Chaplin’s The Cure, The Champion and The Adventurer with live accompaniment by organists Michael Dirk and Koos Van Nieuwkoop on the historic Wurlitzer organ. After the films, Keith Blackmore of Vancouver Film School will lead a discussion on silent-era special effects with a special guest. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Three of Charlie Chaplin s most beloved shorts showcase his gift for physical comedy and comic mischief. In The Cure, Charlie causes chaos at a health spa when his hidden supply of alcohol finds its way into the mineral waters. The Champion follows an unlikely boxer who relies on clever tricks to survive in the ring, while The Adventurer sees Chaplin as an escaped convict attempting to blend into high society while staying one step ahead of the police.
