The Commission of the Canada Energy Regulator has approved Trans Mountain’s Tolls Settlement through Filing C41001, establishing a framework for tolls, tariffs and transportation services on the Trans Mountain Pipeline System, according to a Canada Energy Regulator news release.
The regulator said the Commission found the tolls set out in the settlement to be just and reasonable.
Under the decision, Trans Mountain may contract up to 90 per cent of the pipeline’s capacity to shippers. The previous approved allocation was 80 per cent.
The settlement resolves disagreements between Trans Mountain and its shippers about how costs for the expansion project would be shared. The RH-002-2023 proceeding has been cancelled, the regulator said.
The Trans Mountain pipeline system runs from Edmonton, Alberta, to Burnaby, British Columbia.
