Our Lady of the Rockies High School Marching Band performs in Beacon Park
PHOTOS: Calgary marching band fills Sidney park with flair, music Published 7:40 am Tuesday, July 14, 2026 The sounds of a marching band are an unusual sound in Sidney, but residents were treated to a performance from visiting Calgary students Friday (July 10). The Our Lady of the Rockies High School Marching Band performed in Beacon Park with what one audience member called a “splendid, colourful and spirited show.”
“It was an unexpected pleasure to experience such talent and joy from a truly exceptional group of performers,” reader Nat Klein told the Peninsula News Review. Beacon Park is home to much music in the summer. The Summer Sounds Concert Series continues Sunday (July 19) with Got Stones, a band that takes the audience back in time to the golden era of rock.
Embodying the “spirit of the Rolling Stones,” the band performs from 2 to 4 p.m. The next Sunday (July 26) from 2 to 4 p.m. sees The Sutcliffes bring back the magical days of The Beatles. Concerts continue each Sunday afternoon through August, courtesy of Peninsula Celebrations. For more news delivered daily into your inbox, please click here.
