Photos: Music fans pack Bell Park for Northern Lights Festival Boréal’s second night

The three-day music festival concludes Sunday night

The Northern Lights Festival Boréal grounds at Bell Park were packed on Saturday night for the second of three days of eclectic music. (More photos below) The night capped with Canadian singer/songwriter Sarah Harmer and her band on the main stage (Grace Hartman Amphitheatre) and Nigerian Afrobeat performer Tommyphyll on the secondary Cabaret Stage.

While Harmer kept the audience captivated and swaying with her wide collection of pop-infused folk songs, including such radio staples such as "Basement Apartment” and “Silver Road,” Tommyphyll kept their audience on their feet and jumping. The juxtaposition was indicative of the eclectic range of music which fills out the grounds for the annual festival, now in its 55th year. There’s still one more day to go, with the music starting at 11 a.m. today.

Various vendors and food booths fill out the grounds between stages, and today will also include a pay-what-you-can afternoon at the festival grounds from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The recommended donation is $20, but festival executive director Michelle Murray said, “We’re not going to turn anybody away.” For a full lineup and ticket information, click here.
