Surrey police investigating after 9 vehicles had windows smashed in Newton

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after nine vehicles in the city's Newton neighbourhood were damaged.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is investigating after nine vehicles in the city’s Newton neighbourhood were damaged in the early morning hours Wednesday. Officers were called to the area of 75 Avenue and 147A Street around 5 a.m. after reports of two people breaking the windows of vehicles parked near the road.

“Several SPS units responded to the area, but the suspects fled prior to police arrival,” police said. “In total, nine vehicles sustained glass damage to front, rear, and side windows.” Investigators have released images of the suspects, who are both males with slim builds wearing dark clothing.

They appear to be using clubs or bats to damage the vehicles. Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any other information or video is asked to call the SPS at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-73430 (SP).
