Fanny Bay revives its weekend brunch with seafood-forward classics

The relaunch follows the restaurant's recent expansion, which added more seating and a refreshed space while allowing the Michelin Guide-recommended spot to once again offer one of its former customer favourites. The menu combines returning staples with new West Coast-inspired dishes, including smoked oyster quiche, crab cake and lobster biscuit Bennys, breakfast paella, salmon and avocado toast, and bananas foster waffles. Fresh oysters remain at the heart of the menu, available individually or by the dozen, alongside chargrilled oysters topped with Szechuan chilli butter and crispy shallots because if you're going to eat oysters before noon, you might as well commit.

Behind the bar, classics include mimosas, sangria, espresso martinis, lavender shafts and B.C. caesars garnished with an oyster, prawn and smoked salmon. Diners can also order a build-your-own mimosa kit for the table or opt for zero-proof beers, non-alcoholic cocktails, coffee from Salt Spring Island Coffee and tea. Whether you're craving shellfish, waffles or a caesar that doubles as a seafood tower, Fanny Bay's brunch offers a decidedly West Coast alternative to the city's usual breakfast lineup.
