Record Staff (HB) At the Hereford Forest annual general meeting, the members present had the opportunity to discover the brand-new Heritage Circuit- Hereford Township and its eight interpretive panels arranged across six stops over a distance of four kilometres (2.5 miles) along the historic route “From Leach Stream to Hall Stream.” The Hereford Community Forest is a territory of nearly 5,600 hectares (13,837 acres), largely protected by a forest conservation servitude, ensuring the preservation of a natural environment for all to enjoy.

This project is the culmination of the work of a committee of volunteers passionate about history and heritage, who invested many hours to shed light on the history of our border region. Supported financially by the Cultural Development Agreement of the MRC of Coaticook and the municipalities of East Hereford and Saint‐Herménégilde, Diane Lauzon‐Rioux, François Bouchy‐Picon, Hubert Duchesneau, and Rock Létourneau made it possible to create this route. The route begins on Route 141 at the All Saints Church in Hereford—just a stone’s throw from the border—and ends at the birthplace of Neil Tillotson.

Located along roads accessible during the summer season, the route can be completed by car or on foot. From “Life on the Line” to “A Strong Attachment to the North Country,” the Heritage Circuit offers an immersion into the history of our border region and invites visitors to discover this formative era, marked by cross‐border cooperation and the roots of our earliest settlers from New England, England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. For history enthusiasts, the research findings, which include additional background information, can be consulted on the Forêt Hereford website: https://www.forethereford.org/en/circuit-patrimonial-canton-de-hereford/index.php Please subscribe to read more news like this, published every Friday L’article Hereford’s Heritage Circuit, new immersive route est apparu en premier sur Sherbrooke Record .
