Middle Ages fair comes to Agassiz this summer Published 5:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2026 Hear ye, hear ye: Agassiz-Harrison is getting medieval.

The Shire of Lionsdale – Fraser Valley’s branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) – is set to host the Bartholomew Fair at the Agassiz Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday, Aug. 14 to 16. The SCA is dedicated to all things Middle Ages. While armoured combat is a component, there are several other areas of study and practice, including scribal painting, period dance, archery and more.

The Bartholomew Fair in Agassiz’ will showcase armored combat, target competitions, daytime dance instruction, Middle Ages Arts and Sciences and a night ball with the theme of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Tickets are $40 for non-SCA member adults and $30 for members; children and youth are admitted for free. The Shire of Lionsdale has a membership spanning from Hope to Maple Ridge, holding events and practices throughout the year.

Their next festival event is St. Crispin’s Festival, which will take place at Atchelitz Farmer’s Institute Hall in Chilliwack.
