‘Passport to Downtown’ July 11 event in Yorkville offers prizes to shoppers collecting stamps at businesses

As part of Yorkville's “Meet Me Downtown” promotion, this Saturday is the “Passport to Downtown” event. Mirroring the wanderlust World Cup, each local business is “becoming a different country for a day.” Shoppers collect stamps for a chance to win prizes.

Yorkville businesses are teaming up to spark the community’s “sense of adventure.” As part of the city’s “Meet Me Downtown” promotion, this Saturday is the “Passport to Downtown” event. Mirroring the wanderlust World Cup, each local business is “becoming a different country for a day.”

From 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, residents can pick up a passport at the Yorkville Flower Shop . With the passport, shoppers can visit local participating businesses and collect stamps. Residents must turn in their completed passports with their collected stamps at Rowdy’s for a chance to win prizes.

“Grab you passport and spend the afternoon exploring downtown Yorkville,” the city said in a post. “Visit participating businesses, collect stamps, discover new favorites, and earn your chance to win great prizes. Shop local, support small businesses, and enjoy everything downtown Yorkville has to offer.”
