Westerner Days returns next week Published 5:30 am Saturday, July 11, 2026 Red Deer’s biggest summer event is back. The annual Westerner Days Fair and Exposition begins Wednesday, July 15 and runs through to Sunday, July 19 at Westerner Park. “Westerner Days is an opportunity for everyone to come together and have a really fun time,” said Marla Lowe, Westerner Park manager of marketing and communications.
“It’s a place where people of all ages, from children all the way up to seniors, can enjoy the midway and so many different activities.” The midway features rides to satisfy thrill-seekers and adrenaline fanatics, such as the crowd favourite Zipper, as well as rides designed for children and their parents. There will also be plenty of game booths and food vendors throughout Westerner Park.
Kidventure, an indoor space set up inside the Parkland Pavilion for children and families, is also returning this year. Kidventure will feature Doo Doo the Clown, a Junior’s Firefighter Challenge with obstacles and treats. “It’s going to be next level this year.
There are going to be some cool things happening there,” said Lowe. There will be live music performances at the Beer Gardens each evening, including Aysanabee on Thursday, 54-40 on Friday and Chad Brownlee on Saturday. There will be fireworks at 11 p.m. each night.
Westerner Days also features a market inside the Prairie Pavilion, Agventure in Exhibition Hall and the annual North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships, which is sanctioned by the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association. There will also be live entertainment, including the Flying Fools High Dive Show, Little Rodeo Pro and Dogs Do Magic. A new addition to Westerner Days this year is a Métis village, which will be set up inside the Westerner Park Chalet all five days of the fair.
The fair is open from noon to midnight every day. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.westernerdays.ca.
