The Government of Canada is investing more than $10.6 million through the Rural Transit Solutions Fund to support 13 rural transit projects across British Columbia.
The projects include purchases of electric, hybrid and accessible buses or vans, as well as transit feasibility studies, transit-service infrastructure, bus shelters, charging stations and transit software.
Federal funding listed for individual projects ranges from $10,000 to $3,136,188. Recipient or other funding is also identified for several projects.
Funding for all projects is contingent on the signing of a contribution agreement. The Pemberton project also requires the completion of all requirements related to Indigenous consultation.
