See street art in action as two new murals transform Campbellton Published 7:30 am Saturday, July 11, 2026 Campbellton is turning into an open-air art gallery this summer as two local artists began transforming prominent neighbourhood walls into massive public masterpieces. The west side of the White Tower Restaurant has artist Kari Wasylciew bringing a vibrant water themed vision to life, funded through the City of Campbell River’s Community Beautification Grant. Meanwhile on the north side of Campbell River Seafood artist Alex Witcombe is painting a large-scale nature mural, supported by funding from the Province of British Columbia.

“Public art has the power to transform a neighbourhood,” said Zoie Richards, Vice Chair of the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association. “It creates spaces that invite people to slow down, explore and connect.” These new pieces join a growing cultural footprint in the Campbellton River Village, adding to vibrant local spots like the Campbellton Loop, Quinny’s Quest and River Village Park.

“We are so grateful to both these local businesses for donating their walls as community canvases,” said Association Chair Laurel Cronk. “These projects are helping transform the neighbourhood into a vibrant destination while celebrating local artists and community partnerships.” The community is encouraged to visit Campbellton to support local businesses and see the completed murals.
